War-Time Consigliere

Since the 1980s CEO Perspective Group Partners have helped executives succeed during volatile times. In the 1990s Soder created "Managing Difficult Situations" a unique program to encourage individuals to consider and prepare for things that weren't likely to happen. This became a theme in many keynote speeches given by Soder and Clarke including the 1997 Corporate Board's Best Practices seminar, Conference Board workshops and a Brookings lecture. Directors, CFOs, Fortune 50 corporations, rising stars and more all sought our counsel on leading in turbulence. Thus in 1998 before Colin Powell's address, Dr. Soder spoke to the American Medical Association on how leaders manage change. In November, 1999, Soder addressed the Fortune 50 CFO Forum "Thriving in a Volatile Business Environment" along with Paul Volcker, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo (Nokia CEO), Geoff Colvin and other notables. Other 1999 talks included "Managing Clients and Difficult Situations" for Goldman Sachs, "Leadership Under Fire" at the Working Woman 500 Conference and a FEI keynote, "CFOs Under Fire: New Expectations."
While CEO Perspective Group partners had been advising executives for years on a wide range of difficult matters from managing stress to international conflicts, these services became primary in 2001. Even more challenges confronted executives in late 2008 and 2009. Our vast experience, expertise, approach and discretion are helping clients lead confidently and wisely during this unprecedented time.
